PROGRAM INFORMATION
- Participation builds character and discipline and
improves concentration.
- Learn gun safety, cleaning and maintenance.
- Participate in local, state and national matches.
- Open to students aged 5 to 18 years. We provide
safety training to over 200 young shooters each year and have 60
regular participants.
- Meet every Friday night from 6-10 PM at Lafayette
Gun Club.
- First night’s participation is free, with a $2
per night fee charged after that. All fees used to support the
program.
- We provide ALL necessary equipment for
participation – including guns & ammo.

- New shooters do not need to pre-register. Arrive
at 6 PM for safety orientation and equipment issue.
- Regular shooters call Patty Harris at LCG (757)
898-8854 M-F, 10-12 AM to sign up for range time.
- Parents need not be members of LGC for Junior
participation.

JUNIOR SHOTGUN PROGRAM: The Junior Shotgun Program is
now a reality. The team meets at 8:00 AM every other Saturday. As with other
Junior Programs, equipment is supplied, but Juniors must provide their own
shells and have their parents’ permission to participate.
JUNIOR DISCOUNTS: Parents who plan to purchase
equipment for their Junior shooters, contact Jim Crawford at (757) 898-9155 for
information about discounts available from several suppliers through the Junior
Rifle Team.
THE JUNIOR RIFLE AND PISTOL TEAM: The Junior Rifle Team
meets every Friday starting at 6:00 PM. This is a community service of LGC, and
parents of interested young people ages 5 – 18 need not to be members of the
club. A new shooter should be accompanied by a parent (Legal Guardian) the
first time they attend and should plan to arrive by 6:00 PM that first time.
The first evening is free. After that, Juniors contribute $2.00 each time they
attend, which is used to defray the cost of ammunition and of awards earned by
Juniors. The Junior Pistol Team meets at 8:00 PM every Friday night. Shooters
should already be Rifle Team members before joining the pistol team. The cost is
also $2.00 each time a shooter attends.
